What Do These Men Have in Common?

liars

None of them are champions of peace, yet they have all been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

  • Yassir Arafat fomented terrorism in the Middle East for decades before his death. The terror he incited continues to this day.
  • Jimmy Carter, the worst U.S. President of the 20th century, made concessions to Iran that allowed radicals in that country to capture U.S. Embassy personnel and hold them hostage for 444 days. Carter did nothing to save the hostages except for a lame attempt at a raid that resulted in the deaths of eight military personnel and the destruction of their helicopter.
  • Muhammad ElBaradei ignored the efforts of North Korea and Iran in their respective run-up to nuclear weapons. In his role as chief of the IAEA he consistently gave both rogue nations leeway to continue their efforts.
  • Finally, Al Gore has peddled falsehoods in the name of saving the planet from a highly-exaggerated climatological disaster. In his recent testimony before congress, he misrepresented the truth by declaring that “droughts are becoming longer and more intense” which has clearly been disproven by actual science.

The Nobel Peace Prize has been a joke for years. Consider the following with regard to the discretion of the prize award selection committee:

  • Why did they award Mikhail Gorbachev the Peace Prize for ending the cold war when Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher had more to do with it?
  • In keeping with their penchant for rewarding cowardice and deceit, why did they not award Bill Clinton for his retreat from Somalia after the Blackhawk Down incident? And for refusing to capture or kill Usama Bin Laden?

They should rename the prize to something like the Nobel Anti-American Prize and be done with it.

Assemblyman Ted Lieu – Greenbat

lieu-mug.jpgOur Democratic State Assemblyman, Ted Lieu, California 53rd District, is distributing an invitation to hear one of Al Gore‘s minions expound on the Inconvenient Truth at a town hall meeting.

I emailed Assemblyman Lieu and got no response to my invitation for him to take advantage of the Climate and Global Warming Resources on this website as well as the numerous resources therein.

Given the political nature of the climate debate, I ask if it’s appropriate for this to be funded by the State of California and the City of Torrance?

Attention Gun Owners

I would chime in on this even if I lived outside of California. Arnold Schwarzenegger may be considering national politics and could care what you think:

Just in from the NRA:

Attention California Gun Owners:
Please Contact Governor Schwarzenegger Today!

Three pieces of firearm-related legislation are currently on the desk of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) awaiting his consideration.

Assembly Bill 1471 would require that after a certain date, the make, model, and serial number of a firearm be microstamped onto the interior surface or internal working parts of all handguns in such a manner that those identifiers are imprinted onto the cartridge case upon firing. The manufacture, sale, and transfer of handguns that do not imprint their identifying information on a cartridge case would be a crime.

Assembly Bill 821 would ban the use of lead ammunition for hunting in areas occupied by California condor. By passing AB 821, the Legislature has usurped the authority of the Fish and Game Commission over the regulation of hunting and the management of the state’s wildlife. Unlike the Fish and Game Commission, the Legislature did not take into account the effects of a lead ammunition ban on the state’s hunters. Studies show that a ban will force many hunters to quit hunting altogether having catastrophic consequences on wildlife management practices and the state’s hunting heritage.

Assembly Bill 1645 will protect law-abiding gun owners during a declared state of emergency from the seizure or confiscation of any lawfully carried or possessed firearm or ammunition.

Please contact the Governor and respectfully urge him to veto AB1471 and AB821. Also remind him to protect your Second Amendment rights during a state of emergency by signing AB1645. Governor Schwarzenegger can be reached by phone at (916) 445-2841, fax at (916) 445-4633, or visit http://gov.ca.gov/interact#email to send him an email.

Guns and Ammo Day Tomorrow August 28th

Counter to the gun-grabbing Brady Campaign’s National Day of Protest, we’re posting our latest “On the Range” video to encourage gun enthusiasts to buy guns and/or ammunition tomorrow August 28th.

War on Guns posted an article calling for a blog swarm on this last week. In the article, David links to The Firearms Coalition who are calling for National Exercise Your Rights Day. It seems that not only are the Bradys protesting tomorrow, but also the Jesse Jackson lemmings.

So, show your support for your second-amendment rights. Check out our video and see how much fun we’re having with our guns at the local firing range. Then, tomorrow, go out and buy a gun or some ammo or some reloading supplies or any combination of those, and encourage the Brady Campaign to notice that 66 percent of Americans are against new gun laws.

From NRA-ILA:

A recent Zogby International poll question conducted for Associated Television News found that 66% of the American voting public in a recent poll of 1,020 Americans from August 8-11, 2007 (margin of error of +/- 3.1%) found that the American public rejects the notion that new gun control laws are needed.

Recent Developments in the World of Climate Science

This post has been condensed and abridged from Mark Alexander‘s excellent essay, Debunking the gullible warming Gorons. Mark is the publisher of The Patriot Post and I encourage you to read his complete article and to visit his website.

Correcting the Record

Recent analysis shows that many domestic climate monitoring stations have issues that affect their accuracy. That, coupled with NASA’s recent admission that there was an ‘error’ in calculations performed under the supervision of NASA scientist James Hansen, a Democratic activist and climate warming alarmist, shed further doubt on what we’ve been told. In fact, the warmest year of the 20th century was actually 1934, not 1998 like Hansen, et al, would have us believe. Several of the warmest years of the 20th century occurred prior to the rapid vertical component of alarmist’s favorite “hockey stick” temperature graphic.

Where’s Greenpeace and PETA on this?

young-orangutanI read the blogs and listen to the news every day. Most of the time, when I see something that pisses me off, my reaction is that of mild disgust. Last night, however, I passed the level of outrage when I saw an article on Planet Gore that tells of the destruction of one of the more intelligent species of hominids in the name of producing biofuels.

The Indonesians are steadily clearing the rainforest habitat of the orangutan to make way for palm oil plantations at the behest of the European Union’s thirst for biofuels, bio-diesel, in particular. The result is that the apes are being slaughtered and displaced.

Where the hell is PETA? Where the hell is Greenpeace? My guess is they’re too busy scheming about their next assault on the ‘evil’ USA.

Read Iain Murray’s Planet Gore article, “Crucifying Apes on a Cross of Green“, for the outrageous details.

Time To Thin Out The Herd

Drop your X-box and grab your sox – uh, no, wait . . . maybe you could grab your favorite fuzzy Ugs instead . . . it’s time to pimp your favorite whacko candidate.

alka-paul-ics.jpgSeen recently in Southern California, this pair of Ron Paul supporters gave up their super-sizers, X-boxes and the comfort of Mom’s basement to venture out among the masses and promote their candidate.

The results of Saturday’s Iowa straw poll would indicate that Paul, along with McCain, Tancredo, Cox and Hunter, ought to follow Tommy Thompson’s lead and remove some more of the ‘noise’ from the Republican campaign.

The Iowa results:

1. Mitt Romney – 4516 votes, 31%
2. Mike Huckabee – 2587 votes, 18.1%
3. Sam Brownback – 2192 votes, 15.3%
4. Tom Tancredo – 1961 votes, 13.7%
5. Ron Paul – 1305 votes, 9.1%
6. Tommy Thompson – 1,009 votes, 7.3%
7. Fred Thompson – 231 votes
8. Rudy Giuliani – 183 votes
9. Duncan Hunter – 174 votes
10. John McCain – 101 votes
11. John Cox – 41 votes
