Plamegate Demoted to “Dwarf Scandal”

Unlike Pluto, which deserves respect, Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame’s allegations against the administration have been reduced to the status of a fart in a windstorm.

Now that the left-wing WAPO has dismissed the outing of Valerie Plame’s “secret identity” by the Administration, we can gloat that our previous article, Truth in Aerial Advertising, is apropos to this latest revelation. Here’s the graphic we used in that article:

Of course, these Wilson people will continue to demonstrate their undying bias by taking their suit to its ultimate demise. They will continue to drag it through the muck trying to achieve some sort of moral victory, but will eventually succumb to its own infection. I can just hear Joe Wilson as he says (like Cartman would say) “Screw you guys, I’m going home!

More California Gun Control Insanity

Update: Law Enforcement Against Microstamping

Once again, politicians and ill-informed citizens groups attempt to make legitimate gun ownership difficult to impossible.

From Cybercast News Service:

The California Senate on Thursday passed a bill that would require the “microstamping” of semi-automatic handguns — giving cartridges fired from those guns a unique imprint, which according to gun control advocates, would help police solve crimes.

Supporters say microstamping would turn spent cartridges into potential evidence in civil and criminal cases. According the California Million Mom March, “when the police retrieve the bullet casing at a crime scene, they can quickly track down the legal owner of the handgun that fired it.”

Nonsense, say Second Amendment supporters, who view the bill as yet another attempt to burden gun manufacturers and further restrict gun sales in the state. They say that gun makers, faced with the added expense of microstamping semiautomatic weapons, would either stop selling their wares in California or drastically raise prices.

[ . . . ]

The bill’s lead sponsor, Assemblyman Paul Koretz (D-West Hollywood) acting in tandem with the Coalition to Stop Handgun Violence, has been fighting to pass the bill since last year.

Koretz, from the People’s Republic of West Hollywood, is one of these far-to-the-left politicians who want to disarm all legitimate gun owners in the state. The Coalition to Stop Handgun Violence is an ad hoc front for a socialist group for unilateral disarmament.

But the California NRA Members’ Councils says the microstamping would create false evidence trails.

“Micro-stamped cartridge cases fired and abandoned at government agencies facilities or private shooting ranges could be gathered and used to ‘seed’ crime scenes with the with ‘evidence,’ implicating law enforcement officers and citizens” in crimes they had nothing to do with, the group said in an analysis on its website.

The gun-rights group also said microstamped cartridges could not be recycled because they might implicate secondary users of reloaded cartridges. “Millions of pounds of metals will be turned into scrap and require expense disposal requirements imposed so it will not enter landfills.”

And without the ability to sell and recycle used (microstamped) cartridge cases, the cost of firearms training will increase for government agencies, the gun rights group added.

Second Amendment supporters also note that microstamps can be easily defeated by replacing parts of the handgun that have been stamped; polishing the microstamp with abrasives or modifying the stamp; and in some cases, the stamped markings may be filled in with residue produced by normal firing of the gun.

Criminals who steal guns, smuggle them into the state, sell them on the black market to violent gangs and possible terrorists, will bypass any and all provisions of this measure.
That leaves gun manufacturers, dealers and owners holding the bag on the extra expenses this insane law would require.

Californians, urge your representative to the state legislature to oppose the bill (AB 352). And contact Governor Schwarzenegger, asking him to veto the bill should it ever be passed by both state houses. Since the vote in the state senate was 22-18, that falls well short of the 27 votes needed to override a veto.

Nagin Still in the Running for Stuck On Stupid Award

The New Orleans/Katrina gun confiscation case takes a positive turn toward bringing justice to the nations second stupidest mayor and friends.

Just in from The Patriot Post:

Judge Rules Against New Orleans in 2nd Amendment Case

On Thursday, Federal Judge Carl Barbier ruled against a motion by the city of New Orleans to dismiss a Second Amendment lawsuit involving the city’s confiscation of residents’ firearms in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The suit was brought by the National Rifle Association and the Second Amendment Foundation and names Mayor Ray Nagin and Police Superintendent Warren Riley for violating citizens’ Second Amendment rights.

“We’re encouraged by this latest ruling,” said Alan Gottlieb, founder of the SAF. “For almost a year, we’ve been fighting the city’s delay tactics, which included outright lying by city officials that any firearms had been seized. Only when we threatened Mayor Nagin and Superintendent Riley with a motion for contempt did the city miraculously discover that they actually did have more than 1,000 firearms that had been taken from their owners.”

More than an effort to protect New Orleans gun owners, SAF intends this suit “as a warning to public officials across the country to forget about seizing firearms from their law-abiding owners in the event of a natural or man-made disaster.” The People’s Republic of New Orleans still holds two trailers filled with citizens’ firearms confiscated after Katrina.

I said “second stupidest mayor” above – Nagin has nothing to compare to the Runt Mayor of Los Angeles who would stop at nothing to disarm the city, and is, in my opinion, miles ahead of Nagin in the Stuck on Stupid award. Despite four attempts, Li’l Antonio has not passed the California Bar Exam, and thus remains unlicensed to practice law. But he is sure he understands more about it than you do.

Image: Li’l Antonio speaks at the Anti-Christ-Liberals-Union (could that be Nagin’s baldpate in the bottom of the image?)

God forbid if some liberal gun phobia retard politician tries to take our defenses from us when (not if) a major quake hits the Los Angeles area. Think back to the trite old adage about “prying from our cold dead hands.”

Savor It While You Can

With the defeat of Cynthia McKinney in the runoff election last night, the electorate has rid Congress of the worst.representative.ever.

Unfortunately for America, I predict this insanely behaving b-word will again infect national politics one way or another, just like a persistent case of genital herpes.

So enjoy the moment and brace for the inevitable.

Try and picture all the tiny little critters on the surface of planet Earth trying to compete with a Solar Coronal Mass Ejection for climate effects. This sort of puts the relative significance of fossil fuel consumption in perspective, doesn’t it?

California Constitutional Clumsiness

Reports of the Governor of California entering into an international accord have brought forth criticism based on the constitutionality of such an accord. That’s not what bothers me though, it’s the insane topic of this accord.

Say it ain’t true, Mr. Governor . . .

From NRO:

Schwarzenegger and Blair versus the US Constitution [Iain Murray]

The sovereign nation of California has done a deal with the government of Her Britannic Majesty:

British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger — in an apparent end run around a Bush administration that has stubbornly resisted addressing global warming — signed a partnership Monday to share technology and scientific research aimed at fighting the effects of worldwide climate change.

The nonbinding accord is the first between the United Kingdom and a U.S. state on global warming, establishing what officials said would be a continuing commitment to focus on the issue.

I wonder how they square this with the Compact Clause of the Constitution:

No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, …enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power

As I understand it, the Constitution was designed deliberately to remove the powers states had under the Articles of Confederation to deal with foreign powers. By initiating this process, Blair has just stuck two fingers up to the US Congress and the US Constitution. Funnily enough, I hold him to a higher standard than the Governor of California.

“Give me the old Greenbat head butt Mr. Prime Minister”, “Right-O, Arnie.”

(Picture me sadly shaking my head at this one . . .)

Yeah, What Jon Said . . .

Jon at GOP Bloggers seems to be as fed up with the United Nations as much as we are. I take it a step further and include regimes like Venezuela and North Korea in the mix along with Iran and Syria. All insane, all terrorists, all the time.

GOP Bloggers :: The UN Is Nothing More Than an Enabler of Violent Islamists, So America Must Withdraw

If the UN ever served a useful purpose, that role is now gone. Its peacekeepers are manifestly not effective at peacekeeping, whether as spectators for mass slaughter in Rwanda and Bosnia or observing a terrorist group’s massive arms build-up, but they are clearly adept at mass rape of children. So the “peacekeeping” function of the UN is no reason to keep it around and there is little else of value the organization does that cannot be handled through other multilateral arrangements.
