Immigration Front: DMV Helping Illegals

dmv.pngIn the midst of absurd liberal cries of Nazism following the passage of the new Arizona immigration law, four employees of the California Department of Motor Vehicles were arrested for conspiring to sell false driver’s licenses and registrations to, among others, illegal immigrants. They were charged with grand theft, illegal computer access, bribery, and using documents to conceal immigration status, but perhaps they should be thanked for exposing yet another troubling aspect of illegal immigration. These DMV employees, no doubt, were not going to do background checks on those to whom they were issuing falsified documents — whether those who had come to the U.S. to work, or those who had come here to conspire against us.

Crossing the desert in the springtime is a very colorful experience. The ocotillo and wildflowers in this photo offer a small sample of the variety of desert colors. Click on the image to enlarge.

In His Own Image

From Investor’s Business Daily via The Patriot Post:

Ms. Kagan has spent decades carefully husbanding her thoughts and shielding her philosophy from view.’ Put it all together and this looks like an ambitious radical stealthily, and for many years, grooming herself for the pinnacle of judicial power. … With the Supreme Court likely to scrutinize the constitutionality of ObamaCare and other recent Washington power grabs, Elena Kagan is another liberal elitist sure to give her stamp of approval.

Salton Sea from Keys View

We visited the Joshua Tree National Park today. As always when we come here, we drove to Keys View to see the spectacular panorama overlooking the Coachella Valley and Salton Sea. This photo (slightly enhanced to reduce the haze) shows the Salton Sea just above the tops of the mountain ridge in the foreground. Click on the image to enlarge.

Down the River

As we left Lake Havasu City this morning, we drove from the lake down the Parker strip to Parker Dam and then into Parker where we crossed over into California to spend a couple of nights on the Mojave, near Joshua Tree National Park. I took a lot of photos of Lake Havasu on the way – this is a scene taken just north of Parker Dam where you can see a settlement on the California side of the lake in the distance.
