SPYBLOCK Heads to Senate Floor

From PCWorld.com: Spyware Foes Push New Law

WASHINGTON — A Senate committee has approved a bill that would outlaw the practice of remotely installing software that collects a computer users’ personal information without consent.

In addition to prohibiting spyware, the Software Principles Yielding Better Levels of Consumer Knowledge (SPYBLOCK) Act would also outlaw the installation of adware programs without a computer user’s permission. The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee approved the bill Thursday.

MSM Recklessly Endangers National Security

Republican Congressional Leadership calls for investigation of leaks to the media. The Associated Press and Washington Post (among many others) recklessly release sensitive information in hopes to defame the Bush Administration and undermine the War on Terror.

From FOXNews.com:

WASHINGTON — Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and House Speaker Dennis Hastert on Tuesday called for a congressional leak investigation into who told the news media about previously undisclosed U.S. interrogation centers abroad.

“If accurate, such an egregious disclosure could have long-term and far-reaching damaging and dangerous consequences, and will imperil our efforts to protect the American people and our homeland from terrorist attacks,” Frist and Hastert said in a letter.

The Associated Press obtained a copy of the request to Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Pat Roberts of Kansas and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Peter Hoekstra of Michigan.

The Washington Post reported a week ago on the existence of secret U.S. prisons in Eastern Europe for terrorism suspects. The Bush administration has neither confirmed nor denied that report.

Frist and Hastert said the joint probe by the House and Senate intelligence committees should determine who leaked the information and under what authority.

“What is the actual and potential damage done to the national security of the United States and our partners in the global war on terror?” the letter asked. “We will consider other changes to this mandate based on your recommendations.”

This is yet another media tactic designed to defame the administration without regard to the damage that can be done to national Security. The leak of this information should be considered treasonous; the MSM participation in the leak should equally be considered an act of treachery toward the country.

Democratic Pathological Liars Explained

Ted Kennedy, Babs Boxer, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, The Clintons, Al Franken and many other Democrats’ habitual lying can be biologically explained: their brains are short of gray matter! The article “Liars’ brains make fibbing come naturally” from NewScientist.com discloses abnormalities within the brains of liars:

[T]he combination of extra white matter and less gray matter could be giving people exactly the right mix of traits to make them into good liars. These are the first biological differences to be discovered between pathological liars (ed. certain Democrats) and the general population (ed. the rest of us).

[P]athological liars are a distinct group who systematically manipulate others, lie or use aliases for financial gain or personal pleasure (ed. or political gain).

People who know that their fabricated stories may be challenged will sometimes practice telling their false tales. After a while, the made-up story may come to mind more readily than the true one.

Thus, we may now know why lying comes so easily to some Democrats and why they actually believe their own fabrications.

Congratulations John Roberts

The Senate confirmed John Roberts today to be the Chief Justice of the United States. Congratulations to Chief Justice Roberts.

As predicted, our embarassing California Senators Boxer and Feinstein voted against the Chief Justice but not for the reasons they profess. Boxer, Feinstein and Hillary Clinton, along with 19 other abortion-lobby supported senators voted against the Chief Justice pretending that their opposition was for something other than keeping the abortions rights lobby’s monies. Tsk tsk – they are shameless liars, indeed.

I Just Couldn’t Resist

Today, I received an email message from Jane Harman (D – CA), my congressperson. It was addressed to me with the subject “Re: Your Message.” The message field was completely blank. I just couldn’t resist replying to the message:

Sadly, the mail was returned as undeliverable, which I presume is the case with most congressional mail robots. But I enjoyed the feeling I had as I sent it off to her. Perhaps I will figure out how to send it through her web interface form. (Insert heinous laughter here.)

My reply to Diane Feinstein’s ‘NO’ Vote on Judge Roberts

With some help with the wording from Captain Ed, I sent this to Senator Feinstein’s Mail Robot:

Senator,

Your ‘NO’ vote on Judge Roberts provides further proof that you and other Democrats seek to impose unpopular policy through judicial manipulation rather than through legislation, and that your actions represent a true threat to the Constitutional checks and balances that keep power in the hands of the people.

Once again, as a second-generation native Californian, I am deeply embarassed by my fellow citizens’ choice of California Senators.

In the article referenced above, Captain Ed goes on to say (emphasis added):

No one believes that this will cause any risk to Feinstein’s seat in California, where the GOP still operate in such disarray that they will not likely field any candidate that could possibly unseat Feinstein even if she retired first. However, the declarations of Reid and Feinstein opposing such an impressive and obviously qualified candidate like Roberts will provide grist for campaigns in red-state contests, where at least five Democratic Senators will need to defend themselves and their party against the clear trend towards radicalism and knee-jerk partisanship. The more Democrats that fall into this trap, the easier that argument gets.

The references to the California GOP, it seems, are sadly true, thus increasing our embarassment.
