O My God! It’s Full of Stars!

Are we looking into the Obelisk from 2001 – A Space Odyssey? Not exactly — these stars are the reflection of our own star, the Sun, as seen looking into the waters of the Marina Del Rey, California main channel. The scintillating reflections show up like little twinkling stars through the camera’s lens.

Why Isn’t Nagin in Jail?

Nagin in JailContemptible Ray Nagin, along with ex-Police chief of New Orleans Warren Riley, have been found in contempt of court in Louisiana for failing to provide disclosures to the discovery phase of legal action for illegal confiscation of firearms from legitimate gun owners after Hurricane Katrina. Birds in the Canals of Venice

(Our website has been intermittent due to a problem with the database server. We apologize and appreciate your patience while our ISP troubleshoots the problem. Cap’n Bob)

First Daffodil

After the last cold spell, the bulbs around the garden started to wake up and sprout. This is the first yellow daffodil of the season. Bright yellow daffodils are a powerful symbol of sunny spring days, and the most representative of all the daffodil flowers. You can buy bunches of these in the local supermarket, but I like growing them in our yard! They are big, bright and beautiful.

Winter Wanderlust

As most people working for corporations know, there aren’t any work holidays between New Year’s Day and Memorial Day – a span of over 20 weeks. That’s when the wanderlust settles in. So to provide a visual aid for our collective wanderlust, I present you with this magnificent sky over the red rocks of Arches National Park near Moab, Utah.
