The Dog Park

We took Bear, Cabela and Bay Bay to the Wickenburg Dog Park today. The dogs all enjoyed it including little Bay Bay who decided to get in the water tub. Click on the image to enlarge.

Yellow Rose

We went grocery shopping today. I bought Asian lilies for the vase on my desk and yellow roses for the vase on the sofa table in the great room. I took one of the roses and put it in a bud vase in the guest bathroom. I love the variegated edges on the petals. Click on the image to enlarge.

Flash Flood Gauge

flood-gauge.jpgI took this image going through the bottom of a wash just north of US 60 in Wickenburg, AZ. The desert town has lots of washes that eventually flow toward the Hassayampa River.

This APS pole has a flood depth gauge painted on it scaled in feet. At the top of the hill before you drive into the wash there is a warning sign posted by the town that says:

WHEN FLOODED TURN AROUND – DON’T DROWN.”

We have yet to see a gully-washer since we moved here last year. It would be interesting to see this wash during a flash flood but we’ll curb our curiosity and try to stay home when the monsoons come around.

Not much time to put something up, so I’ll just post this funny sign we saw on Saturday at the Sportsmen’s Club. Click to enlarge.

The Hassayampa River – East Bank

east-bank.jpg

After visiting the Wickenburg Sportsmen’s Club on Saturday, we drove down a road along the east bank of the Hassayampa River. This view shows Vulture Peak in the distance and the river in the foreground. The town is in between the two landmarks. Click on the image to enlarge.
