Polar Bears Still Thriving Despite Greenbat Liars

bear party

Lies told by Al Gore, John Kerry, Barack Obama and others are not holding up to reality. The timetable for polar bear doomsday and other disasters just isn’t cooperating with the original schedule of events forecast by the Greenbat liars.

Jordan Candler, writing for The Patriot Post disclosed the polar bears continue to thrive:

In 2009, then-Sen. John Kerry said, “Scientists project that the Arctic will be ice-free in the summer of 2013.” In that same year, Al Gore reiterated the claim: “Some of the models suggest that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap during some of the summer months will be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years.” Without ice, polar bears have a tough time surviving, and sadly we had to bid farewell to this wonderful creature a few short years ago because we failed to heed the warning. Actually, no, that’s not at all true. Not only has the Arctic retained a considerable amount of ice in recent summers, but polar bears are thriving. Earlier this year, Dr. Susan Crockford of the Global Warming Policy Foundation discovered, “On almost every measure, things are looking good for polar bears. Scientists are finding that they are well distributed throughout their range and adapting well to changes in sea ice. Health indicators are good and they are benefiting from abundant prey.” With roughly 25,000 polar bears estimated to be roaming the Arctic, up from 5,000 in the ‘60s, the alarm should be over. But it’s not.

bearfacepalm.pngAccording to a new report from the U.S. Geological Survey, computer models suggest nearly one-third of polar bears could be wiped off the planet in 10 years as greenhouse gas emissions rise. Let’s get this straight: The same scientific lobby that warned decades ago polar bears would be extinct by now — but which instead grew in population — are now telling us that a significant percentage of bears could face eradication within a decade based on computer models. The same computer models that utterly failed to forecast the current 18-year-old global warming hiatus. That kind of logic is enough to make even a polar bear do a facepalm.

GREENBATS® On Parade

Apparently, this is a bunch of delusional climate alarmists on a march from LA to DC in the name of “climate justice.” They happened to be in Wickenburg, AZ today with their flags and signs vowing to “save the planet one step at a time.” In the photo, one member of the parade was carrying a sign with a link to some parent organization which I removed since I won’t link to any whacko sites, even photographically.

Greenbats®

Damsel snapped the image on our way to the supermarket. Click on the image to enlarge.

At any rate, they picked a poor time to march through our town along US 60 on a day when the temperatures are way below normal for this time of the year. The NWS was reporting a high temperature of 63° with windchill to the low 50’s. Many of the homeless-looking and apparently unwashed people in the photo were clad in walking shorts, so I bet they were getting their “Gore effect” welcome to our town. They may have even had a little rain on their parade from scattered showers in the area today.

Bad Karma for Prius-Driving Greenbats

libtard.jpg

In addition to Toyota’s accelerator pedal vehicle recall, there may be additional problems in the Prius’ brake system.

From the OC Register:

greenbatmobileThe U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said today that it is opening a formal investigation into problems with brakes on the 2010 Prius hybrid.

The probe, the agency said, is “to look into allegations of momentary loss of braking capability while traveling over an uneven road surface, pothole or bump.

The news comes a day after the car’s brakes were put into question in several media reports and the Japanese government ordered the automaker to look into the issue. Of course, this latest news comes amid two recalls for millions of cars worldwide over unintended acceleration.

The guy in the cartoon (old hippie-lookin’ dude) reminds me of another Prius driver I posted about here for having an unusual paint job . . .

Greenbats Exposed

The blogosphere, (but not the major media) is buzzing with news of the newly-exposed climate fraud. Cybertons (I just made that word up – there are tons of it but all in cyberspace) of emails and other data reveal the alarmists for what they are: GREENBATS!

You can depend, however, on politicians and the doomsayers to try and shoot the messenger by the usual attempts to discredit the data as being contrived and/or make disingenuous accusations against “the deniers.” The general tactic of the left is to make ad-hominem attacks on truth-tellers when they are unable to refute the truth.

Remember the conclusions we came to when evaluating some actual science:

  • The media will print or broadcast sensationalized headlines to sell copy regardless of scientific value
  • The media will print or broadcast manipulated science with half-truths and invalid conclusions to damage politicians with whom they do not agree
  • Politicians seize on these unverified claims in order to blame their opponents
  • Uneducated/uninformed people are as gullible as ever

You can add the following to the above:

  • Unscrupulous profiteers will attempt to conceal the truth about the climate

We see this principle at work at the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit as they generate their “Fiction Science.”

By the way, head Greenbat Al Gore demonstrated his complete ignorance of science (or did he lie?) when he claimed the interior temperature of the Earth to be “millions of degrees.” That would be “Thousands of degrees,” you moron.

Boxer’s Greenbat Agenda and Inhofe’s Reaction

The Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works Chair is Democratic California Senator Barbara Boxer; the ranking committee member is Republican Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe. Recently, Boxer put forth a list of “principles” to address “Global Warming.” Inhofe, as usual, answered Boxer’s crazy shopping list with some sensible remarks.

Typical of the contents of the Democratic Platform, Boxer and her committee Democrats put forth the following rambling, nebulous list of ‘principles:’

  • To reduce emissions “to levels guided by science to avoid dangerous global warming” and to set targets that are “certain and enforceable,” as well as adjustable.
  • To maintain state and local anti-warming efforts.
  • To utilize a market-based system — that means cap-and-trade, as opposed to a carbon tax, which some economists favor to reduce emissions.
  • To use proceeds from the sales of emissions permits for a variety of uses, including: support for consumers, governments, businesses and workers (presumably to help offset higher energy prices under the system); investments in alternative energy; preserving wildlife and ecosystems threatened by warming; and money for developing nations to help them respond to warming.
  • To ensure a “level global playing field … so that countries contribute their fair share to the international effort to combat global warming.

Senator Inhofe responded with frankness and reality, in stark contrast to the vague list above:

“At a time when Congress is debating a near-term multi-billion-dollar bailout for the American economy, once again the Democrats are proposing principles for climate legislation that will impose a long-term multi-trillion-dollar energy tax on families and workers,” he said.

“As demonstrated last year, when it comes to drafting comprehensive climate legislation, the devil is in the details. These principles offer nothing more than a punt on all of the difficult issues that Americans expect to be honestly debated. Congressional cap-and-trade bills, often touted as an ‘insurance policy’ against global warming, would instead be nothing more than all economic pain for no climate gain. We look forward to debating these tough issues in the Committee this year.”

The emphasis above is mine.

April 2008 was the coldest April in 11 years. April also ranked the 29th coldest since record keeping began 114 years ago.

According to the National Climatic Data Center, the U.S. average temperature for the month was only 51 degrees, which is 1 degree below the average from 1901-2000.

Now that the coldest April over the last 11 years is in the record books, it’s probably safe to say that this fellow’s message might be a bit of overkill.

greenbatmobile.jpgNow would be a good time for this dude to check out these posts on the topic of Global Warming.

  • Earth’s Oceans – A Mesozoic Hot Tub — Scientific Evidence that Atlantic Ocean temperatures may have once reached 107° (42°C) – about 25°F (14°C) higher than ocean temperatures today and warmer than a hot tub.
  • Ultimate Global Warming – SPF 2 Million Won’t Be Enough — The Sun is a star – a main sequence star whose business is to fuse hydrogen atoms into helium atoms. Fusion is a steady but somewhat unstable and potentially violent thermonuclear process.
  • The “O” Zone — Think of the ozone layer as Earth’s sunglasses, protecting life on the surface from the harmful glare of the sun’s strongest ultraviolet rays, which can cause skin cancer and other maladies.
  • Correlating Sunspots to Global Climate — This is a study in two observations made over the last 400 years: observed annual sunspot numbers and derived global temperatures.
  • The Indefensible Hockey Stick — The “hockey stick” (since the shape of the graph resembles one) graph emerged in 1995 and purports to depict average global temperatures over the last 1000 years or so. The basis of this paradigm, however, can be shown to be flawed.
  • Cosmic Rays, Solar Flux and Global Warming — When you consider the context of this galactic radiation effect, the impact of CO2 emissions caused by humanity literally fade away into climatic insignificance.

Remember, we’re not against cleaning up the environment and we’re certainly not against lower fuel prices or curing asthma. We’re not sure why SUVs would exclusively attack children with asthma, but for this modern sandwich-sign wearing doomsayer maybe it’s a foregone conclusion and he is beyond reason.

Just saying . . .

Colorado State University – Greenbat Award

If you’re not into global warming doom and gloom, you could lose your standing among the best tropical weather climatologists and be cut off by the greenbats at your local liberal university, even though your hurricane forecasts and tropical weather expertise is legendary.

A pioneering expert on hurricane forecasting says he may soon lose funding due to his skepticism about man-made global warming, according to a report in the Houston Chronicle.

Bill GrayDr. William Gray, who once said that pro-global warming scientists are “brainwashing our children,” claims that Colorado State University will no longer promote his yearly North Atlantic hurricane forecasts due to his controversial views.

Gray complained in a memo to the head of Colorado State’s Department of Atmospheric Sciences that “this is obviously a flimsy excuse and seems to me to be a cover for the Department’s capitulation to the desires of some (in their own interest) who want to reign [sic] in my global warming and global warming-hurricane criticisms,” the Chronicle reports.

. . .

Gray contends it’s all a hoax contrived by scientists hungry for research funding, media professionals thirsting for Pulitzer Prizes and foreign powers seeking to create a single world government.

In fact, he says, the warming cycle will soon end, and the Earth will begin a period of temporary cooling.
