My guess is that Kim Jong Il wasn’t getting the attention he needs as one of the premier candidates for the world’s worst case of Diplomatic Attention Deficit Disorder. Right up there competing for the title is Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Right now, the United Nations Security Council is meeting to decide what wording to use in a stern letter to Kim. That’ll do the trick for sure, just like the retarded effort of the Clinton Administration to prevent Kim from getting nukes. In other words, useless.

UN — A Danger to America

Just who do these %$@#!? people think they are?

United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan’s deputy, Mark Malloch Brown (a Briton), assailed the United States yesterday for “withholding support from the United Nations, encouraging its harshest detractors and undermining an institution that,” he said, “Washington needed more than it would admit.”

Well that’s a crock — we really do not need the UN nor any of the crap they spew!

US Ambassador John Bolton strongly rebuked Brown’s remarks. He said further that “to mitigate the damage to the United Nations” was for Annan to “personally and publicly repudiate this speech at the earliest possible opportunity.”

I have a better idea — just get us out of the UN and kick their freeloading asses out of the United States!

(Ahem!) The theme of this post gives me the opportunity to call attention to our revamped “Four Dangerous Men” animation, usually seen in the bottom of the sidebar.

UPDATE: More proof that Kofi and the entire kit and kaboodle needs to just get the %$@#!? out!

“The secretary-general stands by the statements made by his deputy. So there is no question of any action to be taken against the deputy secretary-general.”

Three Years In Iraq

Critics of Operation Iraqi Freedom often allege that little or no progress has been made since the invasion. The Secretary of Defense, the Honorable Donald Rumsfeld, has written an excellent article about our progress and addresses critics’ allegations.

Some have described the situation in Iraq as a tightening noose, noting that “time is not on our side” and that “morale is down.” Others have described a “very dangerous” turn of events and are “extremely concerned.”

Who are they that have expressed these concerns? In fact, these are the exact words of terrorists discussing Iraq — Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and his associates — who are describing their own situation and must be watching with fear the progress that Iraq has made over the past three years.

The terrorists seem to recognize that they are losing in Iraq. I believe that history will show that to be the case.

Fortunately, history is not made up of daily headlines, blogs on Web sites or the latest sensational attack. History is a bigger picture, and it takes some time and perspective to measure accurately.

Consider that in three years Iraq has gone from enduring a brutal dictatorship to electing a provisional government to ratifying a new constitution written by Iraqis to electing a permanent government last December. In each of these elections, the number of voters participating has increased significantly — from 8.5 million in the January 2005 election to nearly 12 million in the December election — in defiance of terrorists’ threats and attacks.

Mexican Trucks to Deliver Pollution

Mexican truck traffic will be bringing pollution (and who knows what else?) and WE have to impose more strident emission controls on ourselves? Shouldn’t Mexican POS trucks be required to meet the standards in this country?

This is just plainly WRONG!

Ruling on Mexican trucks will bring the state a load of smog

California air-quality regulators say trucks from south of the border tend to pollute more. The border will open to them soon under NAFTA guidelines.

SACRAMENTO — An anticipated surge in long-haul truck traffic from Mexico will deliver more than loads of produce, electronics and clothing to Southern California.

It will also bring a lot of smog.

California’s air-quality regulators say the imminent opening of the state’s freeways and ports to older, diesel-fueled Mexican trucks could produce a dramatic increase in toxic pollutants, a new source of smog equal to another 2.2 million cars on the road.

“This would have a serious impact on the region’s health and particularly on the health of those community members living adjacent to any heavily traveled routes,” warns a just-released state Air Resources Board report.

“Additionally, the supplemental emissions generated by the increased truck traffic could impede California’s progress toward attaining the federal air quality standards, which could potentially jeopardize billions of dollars in federal transportation funding,” the report says.

As a result, state and Los Angeles officials say they may have to impose more stringent local standards to offset the added pollution from Mexican trucks. [emphasis added]

General Georges Sada, former top Iraqi Air Force figure, tells Larry Elder what happened to WMDs in the days leading up to the invasion.

Sada: Let me tell you. I am really surprised how people are speaking like this and their soldiers are still in the battle. You see, a soldier when he is in battle, he wants to feel that all his nation are backing him and they are with him. And now I tell you I feel very sorry when I see some people in this country, their soldiers are in the battle, and they are discussing political things making that soldier to feel that he is there in the wrong place. That’s one. Second, if there was something right had been done in this country, it was the best decision taken in the proper time, to go and liberate Iraq from an evil dictatorship who only God knows what he was going to do in the region, and maybe even to America, because that man was possessing the weapons of mass destruction and then he was with very evil intentions towards all the West, especially America.
