This is one of my “gnarly” sepia photos. The subject is the fencepost on the corner of our neighbor’s property where our little “river” originated the other day after a heavy monsoon shower. You can see the eroded area to the left of the boulder below the fence in the picture. The flow of the runoff carved little riverbanks all along our road down to the paved road where the flow joined the main Casandro wash. Click on the image to enlarge.
So, like so many people before you, you call the rain damage a river and name it after you? 😉
Nice sepia toned picture…While up in Chattanooga, Tennessee about a year ago I took a sepia tone picture from the top of a mountain looking down into the valley below…it gave an intersting view of the river flowing through the city.
Here’s my guess for the time of day of your picture…based on the shadows it was plus or minus one hour from high noon…
Crotalus- I didnt name it, it’s just there.
Thank You Norm. About one or two was the time. I like gnarly, and old things. And Nature.
Oh.
Still, like Norm said, it is a pretty picture.
We blogged about the main Casandro Dam a while back:

No special comment…just came back to see your reply.
This comment coming to you from Gafney, South Carolina…our first pit stop from Alabama to our Cape Cod condo. While traveling with 2 cats and a dog we MUST stop for the cats…whereas the dog can be walked at rest stops, the cats refuse to eat, drink, or
use the kitty litter while the vehicle is moving.
Next stop exit 104 Interstate 95 just north of Richmond, Virginia….we’ve done this trip about 15 or more times since 2004…
Good luck Norm.
