We had today off and decided to head over to the range for some target practice. I took my little Warthog .45ACP pistol and put about 50 rounds through her without incident. The .38 special seen in this shot did not go with us this time – we don’t have any .38 special ammunition and have not been able to find any lately.
Bob took the Glock 30 and we each took our shotguns – my 20 gauge Remington 870 junior and Bob’s 12 gauge Remington 870 magnum. Shotgun practice is always fun and today was no exception.
Today’s trip to the range was relaxing and served to take some of the edge off the tensions of the last several days. I’m sure my Dad would approve.
Sounds nice. How’s that Glock 30 working out for you? I have one on hold, sorta, while my friend gets his FFL squared away. It was fired just a few times and I think I can get it for $500.
Cabela’s had some actual, honest-to-goodness .38 Special in stock when I went there yesterday.
And dozens of boxes of 9mm Seller & Belliot FMJ.
I darn near fainted on the spot. 🙂
I love that Glock 30 (and my G26 9mm too). Never had a lick of trouble with either of ’em. Thousands and thousands of rounds later, I’m thinking about replacing the recoil springs one of these days, but they keep on tickin’. 🙂
Cabela’s doesn’t have an outlet near us in LA LA land. We have a couple of outdoor and sporting chains, but ammo in our calibers has been rare. Michael Bane says the logjam might clear up a bit, but I’m not holding my breath.
I went to Gander Mountain two days ago and I didn’t see any handgun ammo at all. My buddy’s gun shop just has some 9mm, that’s it.
I looked at Gander’s website and couldn’t find any 9mm. .38 special or .45 caliber. I did see some .357 magnum in a 100 round package for $69.99.
