A Safe Experience
It’s not often that I get to write about a good experience when it comes to dealing with retailers, but I am especially pleased about a recent purchase from Lowe’s Hardware Stores.
A couple of weeks ago while at the gun show, Damsel and I had a discussion about getting a gun safe for our weapons and other valuable items. We had no immediate plans to acquire one, but started considering options: location for the safe, reasonable cost, adequate capacity, compliance with insane California gun laws and so forth. We put the thought on a back brain cell for the time being.
When the sales papers arrived last week, lo and behold, Lowe’s had lowered the price on a safe that met our requirements. On Friday, I got online with Lowe’s Website and found the safe was in stock at our local store. A few clicks later, the order was placed. I got an immediate eMail confirming the order. On Saturday, I got a call from their delivery folks telling me that it would be delivered on Sunday between 8 and 12 AM. By 9:30 or so Sunday Morning, the safe was in our residence.
It was a virtually painless process. The safe itself is 59″ by 21″ by 17″ and is configurable for a variety of applications. All in all, we’re very pleased.

Not to sell Home Depot short - I ordered a hand truck from them on-line (to move the safe now and for general utility thereafter) on Monday and it got here on Tuesday. Home Depot and UPS delivery in combination got it here promptly.
