New Patriotic Mailbox Cover

Eagle and Constitution

One of the guys that installed our satellite TV dish proclaimed that “Nothing lasts in Arizona.” While the TV dish is doing fine, our magnetic mailbox cover that we installed shortly after the mailbox post went in the ground did not faire so well. The colors faded and parts of it started to peel away, so we ordered a couple of new covers. The old cover was basically an American Flag pattern and the new covers (we ordered a spare) have the images of the US Constitution and an American Bald Eagle in addition to the red, white and blue. I think it looks great! Click on the image to enlarge.

Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day

As patriots gather to honor the US Military on Armed Forces Day, may we all take a moment to thank them for their service and for our freedom.

Ronald Wilson Reagan’s 102nd Birthday

We could use another guy like this. Via The Patriot Post:

“The price for this freedom at times has been high, but we have never been unwilling to pay that price. … It is time for us to realize that we are too great a nation to limit ourselves to small dreams. We’re not, as some would have us believe, doomed to an inevitable decline. I do not believe in a fate that will fall on us no matter what we do. I do believe in a fate that will fall on us if we do nothing.” — Ronald Reagan

Today marks President Ronald Wilson Reagan’s 102nd birthday, or as he would have phrased it, the 63rd anniversary of his 39th birthday. The observance of this occasion provides a vital bond with our national heritage of Liberty and those who have devoted their lives and fortunes to advance it.

Good Snowbird

Good Snowbird

Damsel snapped this photo of one of our “snowbirds” cars in the parking lot today with a hopeful bumper sticker urging the electorate to defeat the POtuS next Tuesday. Please get out the vote! Click on the image to enlarge.

President’s Day

The Town of Wickenburg has a policy of displaying the Stars and Stripes on holidays. Presidents Day is no exception. These flags are on Wickenburg Way, just across the road from the auto repair shop where we had one of the vehicles serviced today. Click on the image to enlarge.

Ride for 9-11

ride.jpgI would like to call your attention to a current activity regarding the 10th anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11/2001. A group of California firefighters have launched their “Ride for 9-11” cross country cycling event.

The riders are trying to raise money for both the Leary Firefighters Foundation and the Wounded Warriors Project. Check out their website to read more.

RIDE FOR 9-11

We are a team of firefighters that will be cycling across the United States to honor those whose lives were lost 10 years ago on September 11, 2001 and those who continue to fight for our freedom and safety.

The Ride For 9-11 will commence July 24, 2011 in Hollywood CA and end in New York City at the FDNY Firefighters Memorial on September 9, 2011.

By the way, the Never Forget Tribute counter (seen in the right sidebar) is on schedule to surpass 75 million hits by 9-11.
