A Pink Rose

Lately, the flower concession at the supermarket has been offering some very nice rosebuds. This pink one has been in the vase for about four days and has opened nicely. These aren’t very fragrant, though, but they have a hint of the familiar perfume if you get close enough to them. Click image for larger view.

The Last Plumeria

I braved my way out into the light Southern California rainfall this morning to capture this photo of what will be our last plumeria bloom of the season.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Fall Colors in the Garden Today

I took all four of these photos today in the patio garden. These beautiful flowers all have the fall color scheme. I guess as the temperatures outside get colder, the colors get warmer. Whatever the reason, I like it!

The South Coast Cactus Railway

We looked forward all week to go to the South Coast Botanic Garden where they were hosting a Model Railroad Show. The model railroaders set up a miniature railroad throughout one of our favorite areas in the cactus garden. This one shot of a little model doesn’t do the scene justice, since there were little trains all over the place.

Coming Out

The second wave of beautiful plumeria flowers continue to open. This is the latest of about a dozen new ones enjoying the Southern California mid October warm spell.

Trio of Orchids

Looking through some of the photos I took last month at the Orchid Show, I found this one of these three very delicate and beautiful blooms. Click to enlarge.
