Global Warming

A Glitch in the Matrix

GLITCH!

This is an actual, unretouched screen shot of the NOAA weather report for our town as observed on the internet this evening. I did a double take when I saw this on the computer screen and captured a screen shot before it reverted to the actual reported temperature of sixty-something.

It would not surprise me to see this erroneous data point merged into the annual average, knowing the way that the Government and Greenbats (but I repeat myself) manage climate statistics to look like the sky is falling. It is well known by those of us that pay attention, but mostly carefully concealed from the public-at-large, that statistical manipulation runs rampant among climate alarmists.

Remember, it’s not about the climate. It’s about taxation and control. Click on the image to enlarge.

It’s Called “Weather”

Weather

We’re having sort of an unusual weather pattern this morning. The precipitation mass in the map above is moving southeast to northwest in the animated mosaic. We normally see movement in the opposite direction when precipitation moves through. The forecast is for a forty percent chance of rain this afternoon, increasing to eighty percent this evening. We’re not complaining, the desert can always use the rain.

Meanwhile, in the northeastern US, Airlines are cancelling flights, road closures are going into effect as a “potentially historic” blizzard approaches. Weather expert Joe Bastardi weighs in on Newsmax:

“The snow, as extreme as it is now, may be rivaled next week by the cold,” Bastardi, chief forecaster for WeatherBELL, told hosts J.D. Hayworth and Francesca Page Monday.

“In other words, when you look at deviation from normal this is a very, very big event and there are others coming behind it. Maybe not as strong as this, but snow in many of the areas getting it now, Thursday then again Sunday, and just spectacular cold early next week,” he explained.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if New York goes below zero a few nights, which is a very rare event over there,” he added.

Bastardi also said that some Northeasterners should be prepared for more of the same — snow and biting cold — well into next month.

“Some of you folks in the Northeast, you may not see it rain again before February 15 because every precipitation event will be in the form of snow,” Bastardi told “MidPoint” host Ed Berliner on Monday.

It would appear that the full “Gore Effect” winter is in progress. It’s not GLOBAL WARMING or anything else of the sort. It’s all about Government taxation and control of EVERYTHING!

One Week After the Snow

One Week After the SnowExactly a week ago, the ground was covered with snow. Much of it, especially on the north side of hills, stayed for several days.

Today, however, is like spring again. There is no snow in sight. I broke out in a sweat in a T shirt hiking up on the hill behind the house. Although we don’t think winter is over by far, Damsel and I will take this nice weather for now.

The clock on the patio is reporting for mid afternoon, the time and date, phase of the moon (full) and a tropical 71.3 degrees in the shade. The phenomenon we are observing here is called weather.

It is not climate disruption, not global warming, not CO2 greenhouse effect and not urban heat island(1). It’s just weather, the same thing every year with the occasional anomaly. We’re good with that, so stop whining about what it ain’t.

(1) Urban Heat Island (UHI) is real enough, but not here in semi-rural Wickenburg.

Tesla Fail

Tesla Fail

Early this year, the Town of Wickenburg authorized a lease of several parking spots at the Downtown Courthouse to Tesla Motors for the purpose of installing several Supercharger Stations for the Tesla electric cart (not an actual automobile IMHO). Tesla did install six of the stations within walking distance to all of the downtown attractions and businesses, but the chargers seem to seldom be in use.

I think Tesla sold the Town on the “Field of Dreams” concept that if they built it, Greenbat Tesla owners would flock to Wickenburg to spend money while charging their glorified golf carts for free. It isn’t happening. Six stalls? Really?

I asked one of the town public works people who pays for the electricity. Tesla pays, was the answer and not the town. Now, I’m a bit skeptical that Tesla foots the cost of the stations and bills associated with them. I’m sure that the US Government (read TAXPAYERS) heavily subsidize Tesla and the other hydraulic hallucination* electric car companies such that there is the usual waste of revenue going toward these projects and thus down the economic drain hole.

The New Red

green.pngI forget where I found this graphic. Maybe at The Patriot Post. At any rate, I like the not-so-subtle comparison of the current administration to the Communist Party.

The EPA and other .gov agencies, the media and the hard left (but I repeat myself) continually foist the Global Warming Climate Change Climate Disruption nonsense on the public knowing full well that it is all unmitigated bovine feces. The whole charade is merely a method to allow government to gain control over energy resources because, obviously, it is ALL about government gaining control with progressives.

I found the following snark in the Patriot Post Daily Digest for Friday:

Comedian Jimmy Fallon:

“The federal government is starting to plan for climate change by making extended forecasts that can help people plan for extreme weather — because what can go wrong when you combine the efficiency of government with the accuracy of weathermen?”

First Day of Summer

Solstice

Today is the first day of summer. The above is a screenshot captured from the Archaeoastronomy website where the eight significant stations of the Earth’s orbit are depicted: solstices, equinoxes and cross-quarters.

Now, it is time to brace yourselves for the inundation of the greenbats cries about global warming, regardless of summer being quite a natural phenomenon. It’s all about their political agenda, not about the weather.

From Joe Bastardi via The Patriot Post:

I have stopped trying to argue with someone who refuses to look at anything but that which supports his own position. It’s pointless. So in an effort to end a debate quickly, I now politely ask individuals to explain how CO2, given how small it is relative to all around it, actually changes the entire system. That usually stops it with most of the crowd. Like many things I see with new age forecasters today, they will jump on one weather factor and not understand its behavior is because of everything around it.

The second thing I do is put the ball in their court. This requires knowing what went on historically with weather/climate. So I ask what the perfect number is for CO2 in the atmosphere. An example: Dr. Bill McKibben – one of the people I am frequently amazed with because his comments indicate he either does not know and understand what the weather has done before, or does and refuses to let that get in the way – runs a group called 350.org. He and his team want CO2 at 350 ppm (parts per million). So let’s just go to 350 ppm and see what it was like.

First, here is CO2 on the “correct” scale, which is the percentage of the atmosphere. This is not what you commonly see, which is the amount of CO2 in parts per million, where CO2 is grossly over-represented. The scale should be from one to a million, not a tiny fraction of a million.
