Bob gave me these pretty heart-shaped ruby earrings for Valentine’s Day. They nicely compliment the larger heart-shaped ruby pendant he gave me for our anniversary last September. It was not really a surprise since we both went to one of the local jewelers and bought them together. Click on the image to enlarge.

Rodeo Season in Town
Not only does Wickenburg get the “snow birds,” but the rodeo circuit also kicks into gear during the winter months. This rodeo setup popped up recently between US 93 bypass and the Hassayampa river in town.
This panorama is of the rodeo setup behind the cattle pens and hay bales in the foreground. The horse pens are to the left of this view. We have seen a LOT of equestrian trailers in town this week, some small and some in the “big rig” class. Click on the image to see the full panorama.
Happy 2014!
May the new year bring blessings and the restoration of liberty to America and the world.
Cowboy and Saloon Girl
One of the nice things about living in our town is the tourist attractions here. This Cowboy and Saloon Girl bronze is one of about a dozen life-sized sculptures scattered around old downtown. Many of these are accompanied by a play-on-demand-audio narration describing the exhibits in context of their old-west setting. In addition to the statues of people, are sculptures of desert wildlife such as diamondback rattlesnakes, Gila monsters and tarantulas. Click on the image to enlarge.
Happy Halloween
Since our house is located on an unlit unpaved road away from where kids would go on Halloween, we don’t get any tricksters. But, that’s probably a good thing since our Min-Pins tend to be overprotective and raise a ruckus whenever anybody comes calling.
We still enjoy the spirit (no pun intended) of Halloween and decorate accordingly, including our little girl Min-Pin, Cabela. Click on the image to enlarge.
