Merry Christmas

May you all have a joyous Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

This animated Christmas card is based on a famous painting “The Virgin with Angels” by William-Adolphe Bouguereau, oil on canvas, completed around 1900. The original painting is in a museum in Paris, France. The complete image can be seen here.

I can’t take credit for the animation since this appeared as an example of animating methods in a tutorial on the SWiSH website. SWiSH is the program I use for some of the flash seen on our websites. I modified the script in the scrolling text for our custom Christmas greeting.

Christmas Flowers

We’re still decorating for Christmas. Here is a close-up of a Christmas Bouquet currently showing in our office on my desk. We have our desks, computers, a little fridge, and a small entertainment center (radio, DVD player, small TV). We spend a lot of time in our office. Click on the image to enlarge.

Decorating the House for Christmas

We bought several strings of Christmas lights when we moved to Arizona early this year. The novelty is that these are made from used shotgun shells. Sort of like recycling in a gun-friendly sort of way. I took a close-up of one of the shells and inset it in the image. Click to enlarge.

Christmas Colors

There are natural desert shrubs along the road in front of our house. One of those is a small palo verde tree. I took advantage of its green color by hanging red Christmas ornaments on it. I think it looks festive and cute. Click on the image to enlarge.

First Christmas Decorations

A little at a time, we’re going to decorate our little desert house for the Christmas Holiday. Today, I started out by trimming our little mailbox with poinsettia flowers. They are the plastic kind, but look very nice around the rim of the milk can that serves as an anchor for the post. Click on the image to enlarge.
