Senate Votes to Preserve Political Free Speech

This is a really good indication that the United States Senate, in spite of the wafer-thin Democratic majority, will protect our First and Second Amendment rights. Here’s to the Congress following suit.

From NRA-ILA:

Bennett – McConnell Amendment Passes! NRA – ILA Grassroots Activism Protected

Fairfax, VA – The U.S. Senate has voted 55-43 to accept an amendment to S.A. 3, the “Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act”, removing a proposal that would have drastically limited the First Amendment rights of Americans in the political process. The Bennett – McConnell Amendment, offered by Sens. Robert Bennett (R-Utah) and Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), removes Section 220 that would have forced ordinary citizens to register with the federal government as “lobbyists,” with all the attendant restrictions, costs, and penalties.

“The First Amendment protects an unqualified ‘right of the people to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. That is one of the cornerstones of American politics.” said Chris W. Cox, chief lobbyist for the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA). “ Sec. 220 would have, for the first time in American history, severely regulated and restricted ‘the voluntary efforts of members of the general public to communicate their own views on an issue to Federal officials.’

“On behalf of 4 million NRA members and tens of millions of gun owners, hunters and sportsmen across the country, I want to thank Senators Robert Bennett and Mitch McConnell for their leadership in preserving political free speech for all,” concluded Cox. “We are also grateful to the 55 senators who voted for the Bennett – McConnell Amendment.”

Understanding the Democratic Machine

Locked in an endless möbius loop, the gears of the Democratic machine grind on forever. All rhetoric, all the time, with no viable ideas. They do have ideas, however . . .

Redeploy troops from Iraq to Okinawa? End vital terrorist surveillance? Raise taxes? Call the military in Iraq stupid? Accuse the military of terrorizing civilians and committing atrocities? Amnesty for illegals? Block domestic oil production? Socialize medicine? Add new entitlement programs? Disarm the military? Disarm citizens? Stop global warming? Block Social Security reform? Let the UN and EU decide US trade policy? Let the UN and EU decide US defense policy? Block picture ID to prevent voter fraud? Stop fencing the border? Approve same-sex marriage? Approve all abortions? Reduce criminal penalties? Block profiling of potential terrorists? Allow illegal aliens driver’s licenses? Apologize to our enemies and blame America first?

This incomplete list of questionable ‘ideas’ comes directly from Democrats — you can’t make this shit up. And the list of outrageous ‘ideas’ grows daily. I sincerely hope that as Americans, you will go to the polls next Tuesday and vote – especially now that you understand the Democratic Machine.

New Name for Democrats

Why not change the name of the Democratic Party to the Benedict Arnold Party? Seems fitting enough, considering John Kerry’s recent remarks, and the on-going politicization of the Global War on Terror by Democrats. They have continually failed to support security for America, the war in Iraq and our Troops, in particular.

Left: John Kerry, still unfit for command.

As for Kerry’s “apology,” he manages to weasel his way into blaming stupid Americans for not understanding his nuanced sense of humor. Moreover, the cowardly Kerry did not appear personally to deliver the apology, but probably directed one of his minions to type something for his website.

We understood what you meant, Senator. We know you have falsely accused our soldiers of “terrorizing” innocent Iraqis. We sincerely hope that next Tuesday America holds your party accountable for their continued defeatist and traitorous behavior. You are the prototype of the party of Benedict Arnold, indeed.

If Democrats Take Over

This is excerpted from an article written by Stan Katten, who is a former RAND Corp. analyst:

Here’s what we’re in for if Democrats take over

This may be the most important election in a generation. Whether the traitorous Democrats or the virtuous Republicans prevail could influence this country for years to come.

A House or Senate controlled by Democrats will try to accomplish what the liberals have been striving for since Al Gore failed to reverse the 2000 presidential election — bring down the Bush administration by blocking everything it proposes and reversing its accomplishments, regardless of the negative and often dangerous consequences:

  • Withdraw U.S. forces from Iraq and Afghanistan, surrendering to the terrorists.
  • Abandon the fledgling Iraqi government, permitting an Iranian-backed insurgent to take over.
  • Launch impeachment charges against President Bush for “lying the United States into war.”
  • Abandon the Afghanistan government, allowing a Taliban resurgence.
  • Stop all CIA and National Security Agency monitoring programs used to help prevent terrorist attacks.
  • Grant citizen civil rights to Guantanamo Bay detainees. This would include providing lawyers for civil criminal trials.
  • Stop fencing the border, allowing more than a million illegal immigrants per year to enter the nation.
  • Provide five-year amnesty for illegal immigrants, including up to 66 million family members.
  • Grant driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.
  • Cancel Bush’s tax cuts, increasing average taxes by 15 percent to 20 percent.
  • Continue the federal estate tax, returning to former confiscatory rates and exclusion.
  • Increase the federal tax on gasoline 50 or more cents per gallon.
  • Block appointments of strict constitutionalist judges.
  • Extend prohibitions on increasing domestic recovery of petroleum.
  • Approve same-sex marriages.
  • Continue to refuse to make English the official national language.
  • Seek United Nations and European Union approval for U.S. foreign policy.
  • Cede U.S. trade policy to control by the World Trade Organization.
  • Subvert the Constitution by participating in organizations like the World Court.
  • Participate in military efforts only as part of United Nations forces.
  • Add more entitlement programs, like socialized health care.
  • Increase environmental regulations and restrictions.
  • Sign the Kyoto Treaty despite widespread signatory noncompliance.
  • Further empower trial lawyers by removing all limits on awards.
  • Continue to block picture identification to impede voter fraud.
  • Continue the idiotic prohibition on racial profiling at airports.
  • Refuse to simplify the tax system and improve Social Security.

If you think these are exaggerations, check the liberal Democrats’ and environmentalists’ Web sites, including the George Soros-funded MoveOn.org. Read Gore’s book Earth in the Balance and view his new global- warming scare movie. Review the Democrats’ obstructionist record in Congress and their traitorous undermining of the war on terror. Note former President Clinton’s failures to capture or kill Osama bin Laden because he considered terrorists criminals, even though bin Laden had declared war against the United States years earlier.

Read the speeches of the Democrat leaders: John Kerry, Jack Murtha, Hillary Clinton, Howard Dean, Al Gore, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Charles Rangel, John Conyers and even Rep. Jane Harman.

Please vote Republican. Remember the alternatives.

Savor It While You Can

With the defeat of Cynthia McKinney in the runoff election last night, the electorate has rid Congress of the worst.representative.ever.

Unfortunately for America, I predict this insanely behaving b-word will again infect national politics one way or another, just like a persistent case of genital herpes.

So enjoy the moment and brace for the inevitable.
