We received a couple of items I ordered on line for the truck. A cover for the hitch receptacle and extension mirrors for towing the trailer are here. I installed the hitch cover and a hitch lock yesterday. I tried out the extension mirrors today. The mirrors were quite a bit easier to install and remove as compared to the mirror set we had for the GMC.
We still have to order a bed liner and a tonneau cover for the truck. We transported stuff to California and back using just a tarp and bungees to hold stuff in the bed. The tonneau will cover the stuff but we still have ratchet straps and bungees to hold cargo in place.
Get a sprayed-in liner like a Rhino Liner.
It’s indestructable, and well worth the extra $$.
I looked up Rhino Liners on line and found some pretty unhappy reviews on them.
Our dealer has a good drop-in liner that, if damaged, can be replaced. We expect only light duty, so between that and the truck being stored indoors, we should be good for a long time.
Interesting. I haven’t done any online searches, but the only “bad reviews” I’ve heard of all had to do with sloppy installation.
Either the surface wasn’t prepared right, causing it to bubble, or the place that sprayed it wasn’t careful, and got the stuff in places where it shouldn’t have been sprayed.
Once it’s cured, the only way to get it off is either grind it off, or blast it off.
I spoke with our friend at the Ford dealer and he recommended what he called the “Best Brand” for sprayed in liners called “Inyati.” There is a place 44 miles from here that will do the job at dealer cost, so I guess that’s what we’ll go with. The friend also steered us to another place in the Valley that does tonneau covers also at dealer cost.
So, with those two items, I guess we’ll be done with the truck bed. I ordered some “WeatherTech” Digital-fit Floor Liners today for the cab, front and rear.
