We were fortunate to purchase a piece of the Sonoran Desert when we bought our lot in Wickenburg, AZ. I took this photo of one of several cholla growing on the property. I like the way it looks against the blue Arizona sky. Click on the image to enlarge.
Right purdy, ma’am!@
But I sure wouldn’t want that sucker to fall on me!
Funny considering its on the hillside of the house. But no worries, having puppies we check religously for the Cholla balls it throws off.
I like the picture. All I can think of is better that the cholla is against the blue sky than against the blue jeans . . . Been there, done that . . .
Thats why they are called “jumping cholla” you don’t have to be close, just close enough.
They are evil plants as are some of their cousins. They love to inflict pain upon the unsuspecting.
They are nasty, thats why we check around for the little balls they throw off. I have a pair of tongs and a bucket just for them.
