At first, I got a chuckle out of this viral video (courtesy Power Line), but after thinking about it a while, it’s a very sad video, indeed.

Glen Beck had a good analogy today about government spending.
If I give you $10, and you spend $13, how is that my problem?
If I give in and give you the $13, why is it you turn right around and spend $17, and come back complaining to me?
It’s that unfortunate “Beltway Mentality” – out of touch with constituents.
