Yesterday, while visiting the Para Booth at the NRA Convention, Para’s public relations director, Kerby Smith, showed us this Para PXT LDA 9mm pistol. Since this one is on the restrictive California DOJ ‘acceptable firearms’ list, Kerby asked us to consider acquiring one of these 9mm pistols.
According to the Para Website:
Small, light, fast and carrying 8+1 rounds of low-recoil 9mm Luger ammo, the Para PDA 9mm is a lot of reassurance in an ultra-compact package. PDAs are sized like Snubbies but they have 3-inch match grade barrels because you need accuracy in a defensive pistol.
- Caliber: 9mm
- Rounds: 8+1
- Barrel: 3″
- Weight: 24 oz.
- Length: 6.4″
- Height: 4.75″
- Hammer: Spurless
- Sights: Night Sights
- Receiver: Alloy
- Finish: Duo-Tone
I did like this pistol a lot when I handled it and it is a pretty gun. But, it didn’t make my eyes glaze over like my stainless steel Warthog did the first time I laid eyes on her. But, that being said, I did like this gun a lot. I would have to put a few rounds downrange with one of these before I ultimately decide if it’s for me or not.
Gotta agree with you about the Warthog. When I first saw mine, I HAD to have it! I wasn’t wanting to buy an 800 dollar gun, but my will is weak when it comes to shiny loud things. Sometimes when I look at my Warthog, I think; “this gun is too cool for even me…”. Good news: today I was finally able to find and purchase 1 single box of ammo… At this rate, in a couple of months I may be able to buy 2 boxes!
Its a sad sad time for gunnies.
While at the NRA convention I picked up a bumper sticker:
FORGET THE DOG I HAVE A WARTHOG
I loved it!
I am kinda sorta maybe in the market for a 9mm. I am considering the Sig 2022 as a balance between awesome badass looks, quality and price.
I’m partial to my Glock 26 9mm. The Sig looks good too, but I love mine.
Now, if I could only get some 9mm ammo.
