Yesterday, we enjoyed a nice quiet day without handbills on the door, light traffic and good air quality. What happened?
Ex-Liberal in Hollywood Clark Baker has some answers:
Congratulations Democrats!
LA’s May Day was a huge success! The leaf blowers were silenced, the air was clear, emergency rooms were empty, and the smoke-belching clunkers driven by millions of unlicensed and uninsured illegals were safely parked for much of the day, unclogging our usually-constipated freeways for speeds not seen since the 1984 Olympics! Crime, collisions, and classroom sizes were all down, and commuters returned from work with enough time to mow their lawns and clean their homes before dinner. For one day, Americans caught a glimpse of life without illegals and saw that life wasn’t so bad.

sweety your confusing human rights with the rights that every U.S.
citizen has. and as far as this country benefiting from undocumented workers that is a two way street. Im not against people from other countries comming here and starting a life here all I am saying is “Get in Line and do it the right way” let me paint a picture for you if I may. suppose I snuck into your home one day when you were not there. and then started eating your food that you bought with your hard earned money. and drinking your milk… milk that you bought for your children to drink. and when you told me to leave I told you… “Hey you cant make me leave I have rights” do I really have rights? I mean I broke into your home. I ate your food , I drank your milk and I never asked you. I just broke the law and didnt care what you said. but I dont blame everything on the illegal aliens it is this countries fault they have been told time and time again that the borders of this country need to be upgraded but no they wait til the problem gets ugly, they ignore the situation. also the fault of Mexico , if they cared enough to help their own people they would’nt be comming here in droves to get out of there poverty stricken situation. and then you have the communist government who are exploiting these poor peoples situation. for their own alterior motives and political gain. (oh yes did you know that this mass protest is financially backed by the communist movement?) why do you think that this protest was held on may 1st? it is a communist holiday known as mayday. not only that but its also the gangs of criminals that sneak into this country and continue to do the same crap that they were doing in their country. like drug dealing, child kidnapping (alot of that goes on in mexico) gangs, murderers, cut throats and the like who take the easy way out and then we are supposed to stand here and not say nothing about it, turn a blind eye to a situation that has gotten worse and worse. its people like THEM! who come here and ruin and mess things up for the good ones. people who come here to this country and make a good name for themselves. and dont forget the terrorist cell groups like al qaida. who are paying alot of illegals who sneak in here very well to do their bidding. if your gonna put me in check your better come correct!
do your home work before you make an argument. And who knows… maybe if i was in the same situation I might do the same thing. sneak in when no one is looking. Even Feb my girl. who is going through her own drama says the same thing. Its not fair for the ones who have waited for soooo long to be bypassed by those who take the easy way out. and break the law. she waited for quite sometime before she got her visa. and dont kid yourself not all illegals have it bad when they sneak here. dont forget my old life style. I associated with many illegals and some were good and some were bad. who do you think brings all that controlled substances into this country? there called “mules.” so ________. dont fool yourself!
More reaction from the MayDay “tantrum:”
A neighbor says he’ll never go to his favorite Mexican restaurant again.
He also won’t return to the carwash where he’s taken his car for the last 20 years. And as for his lawn, he plans to fire his gardener and buy a lawn mower.
He says his anger about illegal immigration is not sudden or temporary, but has been building up inside and fanned to a frenzy by Monday’s nationwide boycott.
“I feel like I’m being held hostage in my own country,” he said.
“The restaurant I’ve gone to every Monday for the last 15 years is closed. My carwash is shut down. I’m never going back there. It’s my way of telling them, ‘I’m not taking it.’ ”
He was not alone in his anger and resentment Monday. Few seemed annoyed at any inconvenience they faced because of the boycott or protests. Rather, many were upset over the broader issues tied to illegal immigration, and some seethed at seeing people they view as mere lawbreakers demanding rights in this country.
Another neighbor lady posted a sign in her front yard that pleads, “Save America.”
“I think there should be a five-year moratorium on all immigration,” she said. “The illegal immigrants especially have been a huge strain on our schools and hospitals. It’s time for our government to shut the borders and look at what’s going on in our country as a result of this problem.”
And the sentiment goes on and on.
To SSinatra – I penned this piece and, for your information, my mom was also an illegal alien. But she assimilated and embraced America, not the country she escaped from.
My commentary was about manners, not race or immigration. As one who has worked, lived, or traveled to every continent except Antartica, I’ve learned how to behave in my host country. The thousands of ungrateful morons who marched in LA and other cities should either embrace and thank America for the opportunities we offer, or go back to their countries and use their vitriolic energies to change their own beloved countries. My comments will only insult the Mexican flag-waving ingrates and not thankful immigrants who choose to become Americans.
