We got these tulips last weekend at the garden shop and I planted them yesterday. I also planted some yellow ones in another spot in the flowerbed (see inset).

This beautiful pair of amaryllis flowers are two of the five blooming from a single stalk. Keep in mind that these are being grown indoors which makes them extra special. Sunlight through the figmented window and love nourish these beautiful flowers.
Coming soon are three or four more, plus another stalk growing from the bulb. Coming soon from another bulb will be pictures of a bright red amaryllis.

A fake waterfall that is. This would look great in our backyard, but alas, it’s property of our local home and garden shop. This is actually one of two places in the fountain where water cascades down to the pool below.

We were out running errands today, taking the dogs to the dogwash, one of the cars in for service, and a stop at the home shop for some supplies. No real blogging, but we did get a lot of chores done.
When the weather warms up, our Indian Hawthorne bushes sprout these nice pink flowers.

Bright red and yellow primroses glistening with dew in the morning sunlight.

Today we were at our local garden emporium and found dozens of orchids blooming in the hothouse section. I just had to get pictures of some of these most beautiful and exotic flowers. This is one of the prettiest of so many varieties. This photo shows several aspects of the flowers: face on, profile and oblique views.

Here is our first daffodil of the season. The unseasonably warm weather convinced this flower to come out as though it were spring. Not to worry, though; cooler weather and precipitation are yet to come this winter. California actually has four seasons: rainy season, mudslide season, summer and fire season. And all bets are off when the ground starts shaking; earthquake season is all year long.
