Happy Birthday to Damsel

Happy Birthday Damsel

Yep, you guessed it – her birthday is Christmas eve. Here are the rules if you have a similar situation:

  • Keep the two occasions distinctly separate.
  • Make sure the gifts are distinctly separate.
  • Optional – have an unbirthday for her around the June-ish timeframe. Get her a present then too.

My Confused Easter Lily

After last Easter, I trimmed off the lily and put it outdoors in it’s pot. Suddenly, the lily sprouted several flower pods that have been opening over the last few days. Very pretty, even if it blooms on the wrong Holiday.

Pink Flamingo Christmas Tree

Finishing up a little pre-Christmas shopping, we were in the old downtown district for some last-minute shopping. At one point, we went into an antique shop where this interesting Christmas tree was on display. Pink tree with pink flamingo light string and pink flamingo ornaments.

Could Be A Christmas Card – Part VI

For the last several years, we have developed a tradition of decorating our Christmas tree with a patriotic theme. Although there are plenty of exceptions, many of the ornaments and lights are red, white and blue. This year, we bought a set of five ornaments from the Patriot Post – one for each of the branches of the military. This is the Marine Corps ornament.

Scout Troop Shootout

This is a good thing. At the range last weekend, we encountered a scout troop mustering in front of the range. As we were getting ready to leave, I spoke with one of the adults that organized the shooting event. He said there were fifteen scouts there for firearms education with six adults to supervise.

This is something that we like to see – kids getting familiarized with the proper techniques and attitudes that should be prerequisite for firearm ownership. I am especially glad that here in California, some good folks are taking the time to get these kids familiarized with shooting.
