I spoke with an old friend on the phone yesterday. We were getting caught up on all the latest events since I talked to him roughly six months ago. One of the topics (naturally) was the new house. A specific topic about the proximity of neighbors came up. I told him that our closest neighbors were just across the road, but that other neighbors were scattered around on larger parcels. In the photo, you can see our house (red circle) and our closest neighbors. Note that the aerial photo was taken before the house was finished, but the rest of the neighborhood is like it appears today.

Wow….now I know what Damsel meant when she said the old house was empty after the kids left.
That place is BIG!
Yep – we’re like a couple of marbles inside a 55 gallon drum at the old place.
Hah!
Never heard it put that way before, but it sure makes sense!
Shoot, you couldda knocked down all the walls and put the pool *inside* the old place!
Hell, just the family room in back is 20 by 30 – 600 square feet. We could have had a pool in there. 😉 2700 square feet in total. Our 1325 square foot house in Arizona is a much better fit and we have plenty of room for visitors.
