Last week when I was over at my Mom and Dad’s place, I spotted this little hummingbird gathering nectar from Mom’s miniature orchids. He was seemingly unafraid of me when I grabbed the camera and took several shots of him, this one being the best of the lot. Sorry, no larger image since I had to crop this close-up at the original pixel density.
Great shot of the hummingbird. Many years ago I got into photography and use to take photos of the whitehead bumble bee. They hoover like the hummingbird and its takes a very fast setting to stop the wing action. I appreciate the photo.
Years ago I tried to take a picture of a Congressman testifying about why he just voted to raise my taxes. I knew I needed a fast setting to capture his lying lips so I set the shutter speed at 1/100000000000000 of a second and just barely caught a blurred image of his forked tongue flicking out and licking his eyebrows.
I’m glad you guys like the photo. Hummingbirds are just so cute – I love them.
Bob thinks that might have been Barney Frank with the forkey-tongue thingy.
