This is my current collection of hand guns. I took the picture after cleaning them up from the trip to the range. Clockwise from the top: S&W 908s 9mm, S&W 686 .357 magnum, S&W 442 .38 special and my Para Warthog .45 ACP. Not shown is my Remington 870 20 gauge shotgun.
I say my ‘current collection’ because that may change soon. Stay tuned.
Now if these guns belonged to the Cap’n I’d be asking, “What’s with all the teensy tiny little barrels? ” And of course the conversation would go downhill in a hurry. I do like that 686 though as a CCW. It reminds me of my Mod. 19 that I still kick myself for trading. I carried that gun off duty for almost 20 years.
We each have a 686. It was the first handguns we bought and they are both sweet little guns. We sent them to S&W a couple of months ago to replace the firing pins. Other than the normal wear and tear we like ’em a lot. I have mine close at hand most of the time. Damsel likes her 442 with +P .38 special HP rounds and I like the 158 gr. .357 HP in my 686. Enough to convince most aggressors to back off.
