You have to admit that most guys would avoid taking a picture of their guns on a pink towel in the laundry basket. This little baby goes with me everywhere, even when I do the laundry.
I think she’s pretty with her red rosewood grips and shiny black frame.
Make, model, caliber, loads, barrel length and any other details. Yes, it is very pretty.
Hmmmm. Off the top of my head, it looks like a 5 shot S&W Chief’s Special, I think a mod. 36, .38 cal? I had one of them yearrrrrrrrrrs ago.
Dang. Next time I’ll look a little closer – missed the shrouded hammer. S&W Airweight? Still 5 shot – can’t think of the mod. number off hand – 2″ bbl.
It’s a S&W 442 J-frame 5-shot. 1-7/8″ barrel .38 special. At this moment it’s loaded with five rounds of Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel Ammunition 38 Special +P 135 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point. And a built-in compass, too 😉
Right – there’s no hammer to get caught by the laundry if I need to whip it out.
My wife likes grips like those as well, very nice!
Yep – makes it even more purdy. 😉
I have a S&W 642 Airweight in .38 special with Crimson Trace laser grips that I love to CCW. I do like your black and cherry wood finish.
Theyre nice guns for CCW or bug.
Funny thing. When I was transferred to an insidejob they gave me a snubnosed .38 for a duty weapon; can’t remember what it was other than a S&W. Anywho, I was sitting at my desk and went to stand up and the hammer caught underneath the arm of my chair. The whole dang chair started to lift up and then the back of the hammer snapped off. The department’s armorer wouldn’t believe me. I then understood why people will buy a revolver with a shrouded hammer. Or a holster with a snap that covered the hammer.
