We planted a new cactus the other day, and last evening a flower opened up on it. To our surprise, this flower did not have the delicate fragrance of our California cereus cacti which are a different variety. Click on the image to enlarge.
UPDATE: the two buds seen in the image above opened the next evening:
Oooh! White flower! By the flower’s structure, I can tell it’s Echinopsis, but I don’t know what species it is. Ya got me on one!
The Golden Torch has a very similar bloom. Its like a Fabergé egg, hairy and big and white. Smells wonderful. . .these not so much. But beautiful just the same.
Looks like it’s happy in its new home!
