Mission San Xavier del Bac Taken near Tucson, AZ. The photo says it all about its beautiful mission . . . Share 16 Oct 2009 by Damsel Arizona Culture Photography
Nice place indeed. Another place I visited while in Tucson over the spring and summer. If you like to hike now and again, try Madera Canyon. South on 19 to exit 63 (I think) there are signs for it). It is about 10 to 12 miles from the highway to the top parking lot. The Super Trail is not too hard but is pretty long. I hiked in spurts oiver time till I almost made it all the way but the altitude was not good for me. Lots of cacti, lots of flowers (when I was there) lots of lizards. Really nice hikes.
All the best,
GB
We really enjoy visiting places like this. As for hiking, we’re not as hardy as we used to be and we generally bring the dog on our trips. Both of those factor into our excursions.
We have been to this area a lot (Damsel was born in Southern Arizona). This trip, we were looking at this area as a choice for relocation from Taxifornia. After winter starts, we may head back over to the northern part of the state to test our tolerance for cold (we did pretty good last winter at the Grand Canyon).
