This beautiful flower opened up today on our patio. It’s a ‘Santana‘ hibiscus, a miniature (4 inches/10cm diameter) version of Hawaii’s state flower. Click image to enlarge.

Happy Autumnal Equinox
It looks as if my Santana hibiscus likes to bloom late summer and hopefully into the fall.

Patio Phalaenopsis Orchids
This beautiful spotted maroon phalaenopsis (moth) orchid has been dormant on the patio since it bloomed last year, but is now back in all it’s glory. Click image to enlarge.

The Devil and the Bee
The big Devil’s Tongue barrel cactus in the back yard is again in bloom. The appearance of the beautiful flowers attracts honey bees who brave their way through the spikes and spines to gather nectar. Click on the image to enlarge.
An Unusual Sunflower
These came home with us from the supermarket today. They are sunflowers but with very fluffy petals. Quite pretty. Click image to see the big picture.
The First Plumeria
I hope we get lots of these beautiful flowers this year. Last year, we were got the Last Plumeria as late as November.
