We picked up our travel trailer this afternoon and are now camped in Buellton, California. I took this photo of the coastline approaching Gaviota, not far from the Ronald Reagan Ranch. Tomorrow, we will be touring Santa Ynez Valley before heading up to San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay.
Like a herd of turtles!
Nice winery up there in Paso Robles is Dover Canyon, really yummy reds.
We saw a buncha vinyards off of 101 today coming up from Buellton to San Luis Obispo. We’re in Morro Bay this evening and will be coming down 101 to Paso Robles on Saturday. Maybe we’ll check out the Dover Canyon Wines then.
I love it up there. I was borne, raised, and lived in Oxnard all of my life until 2003 when we moved up here to T’hacha’P! I love the Buellton area and taking the backroad from Buellton into Solvang. I absolutely miss that wonderful ocean air, there is Nothing like it. Have a great trip!
God Bless,
Naomi
Wow, yer still 300 miles from where we were two weeks ago. You going up Big Sur way?
Thanks Naomi – we’re having a blast. Tehachapi is also a place we’re going to visit one of these days. I’m interested in the railway going through there and the loop down toward the valley from there. One of these days . . .
Sig – we’ll be in Big Sur tomorrow – just passing through on the way up to the Monterey peninsula.
We stayed at the Navy Lodge in Monterey for a week (just two weeks ago). Very nice. If you are looking for a good restaurant in Monterey that is very reasonable there is a place in Pacific Grove on 600 block Lighthouse Ave called International Cuisine near Forest Ave. My daughter eats here all the time and the owner and his staff are wonderful.
We did a quick drive thru….but didnt stay. The place reeks if libsville and they drive
like theyre on meth. Staying in a quieter Aromas. By the way Satans tour guide had
us at the WRONG place 3 times already. . .YOU HAVE ARRIVED AT THE WRONG place
unfoorookingly unbelievable funny. NOT!
Awwwwwwwww. Sorry to hear that.
There is actually one failproof method to using these GPS devices so please listen carefully.
Turn it off and buy a good map.
I love maps. However the male part of the equasion loves gadgets. Truth told it wasnt for this trip….its for the one in September…or whenever he wants to use it. Makes him LOL
so its OK. I roll down the window while they argue. HA!
