Flag Day 2009 Long may she fly over the land of the free. And happy birthday to the United States Army! Share 14 Jun 2009 by CapnBob Military Patriotism
Amen.
My Dad was career Air Force. As kids he took us to air shows, to the base to listen to airplane noise. We had model planes, toy planes, remote control planes.
My brothers all went into the NAVY, one a Submariner, the oldest Swift Boats.
Me, the baby, girl in the batch, became a pilot but because of glasses ended up flying for a three letter agency and not the military.
Dad’s still shaking his head.
My hat is off to all who served,. Go Army.
My Dad and my Mom’s Dad were Navy. I and my two brothers were Navy – all in aviation technical ratings.
I was flight crew out of Point Mugu, CA, but wasn’t a pilot in the Navy. I became a civilian pilot in general aviation with commercial and flight instructor ratings single and multiengine.
I am airline transport rated for rotorcraft as well.
Loved flying but gave it up because of the meds I take these days. It was great while it lasted, but don’t regret anything since we have plenty to keep us busy.
We support all of our service men and women in every way we can. Bless ’em all!
Thanks for stopping by, Brigid.
