Orange Marigolds These are growing around the border of our vegetable garden. We decided to add some color by trimming the garden with an assortment of colorful flowers. These bright orange marigolds go a long way to provide the color we were trying to get. Share 10 Jun 2007 by Damsel Home & Garden Photography
Marigolds are also supposed to keep away rabbits, so they’re more than just a pretty face.
I didn’t know that about rabbits, but I heard that marigolds were effective in keeping certain insects away. That’s good to know about the rabbits because we get the occasional raccoon around here — I wonder if it works on them too?
We tried growing them to keep the animals away from our veggie garden.
bzzzzzzzzzt!
It failed but we love them anyway. Got three varieties growing in our fornt garden now.
Yep we found that too. Bright and decorative is all they do well.
We also have some portulacas which I’ll blog about in a day or so.
