{"id":3380,"date":"2010-03-20T15:57:44","date_gmt":"2010-03-20T22:57:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/capnbob.us\/blog\/2010\/03\/20\/wanderlust-4\/"},"modified":"2010-03-20T16:02:12","modified_gmt":"2010-03-20T23:02:12","slug":"wanderlust-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/capnbob.us\/blog\/2010\/03\/20\/wanderlust-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Wanderlust"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I found this panoramic image in the photo archives this morning . . .<\/p>\n<p><a href='http:\/\/capnbob.us\/graphics\/imageview.php?image=http:\/\/capnbob.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/coachella.jpg' title='valley view'><img src='http:\/\/capnbob.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/coachella.thumbnail.jpg' alt='valley view' \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>During our visit to <strong>Joshua Tree National Park<\/strong> last year, we took the short drive from the main road to a place called <strong>Keys View<\/strong>. From that point, you can see the <strong>Coachella Valley<\/strong> and the <strong>Palm Springs<\/strong> area five thousand feet (1525 meters) below. You can also see the <strong>San Andreas Fault<\/strong> which has been the cause of many Earthquakes in California, including the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.<\/p>\n<p>Although it is difficult to see through the haze, the <strong>Salton Sea<\/strong> is visible at the left and <strong>Banning Pass<\/strong> on the right. A spectacular view to be sure.<\/p>\n<p>As I looked through the photo album this morning, I had the urge to book a trip to escape the cabin fever. Maybe soon, real soon.
