Yesterday, <strong>Senator James Inhofe<\/strong> (R OK) called for hearings with a <a href=\"http:\/\/epw.senate.gov\/public\/index.cfm?FuseAction=Files.View&#038;FileStore_id=ce427764-4d31-41d0-b69e-a6cfae267f60\">letter to <strong>Senator Ma&#8217;am<\/strong><\/a>, head of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW). Inhofe, the ranking member of the committee, released this yesterday (excerpt):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Washington, D.C.\u2014Sen. James M. Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, sent a letter today to EPW Committee Chairman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) requesting hearings on the recent disclosure of emails between some of the world\u2019s most preeminent climatologists\u2014emails that reveal apparent attempts to manipulate data, vilify scientists with opposing viewpoints, and circumvent information disclosure laws. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe emails reveal possible deceitful manipulation of important data and research used by the US Global Change Research Program and the IPCC,\u201d Inhofe wrote.  \u201cFor instance, one scientist wrote of a \u2018trick\u2019 he employed to \u2018hide the decline\u2019 in global temperature trends, as well as discussed attempts to \u2018redefine what the peer-review literature is\u2019 to prevent papers raising questions about anthropogenic global warming from appearing in IPCC reports.\u201d [<a href=\"http:\/\/epw.senate.gov\/public\/index.cfm?FuseAction=Minority.PressReleases&#038;ContentRecord_id=4c063bc2-802a-23ad-42ec-c96147ecb906&#038;Region_id=&#038;Issue_id=\">more<\/a>&#8230;]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now that the lid has been blown off of the Climate Crisis Fraud, it&#8217;s time for the U.S. Senate to conduct hearings into the mess.
