{"id":1355,"date":"2007-08-13T08:36:46","date_gmt":"2007-08-13T15:36:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/capnbob.us\/blog\/2007\/08\/13\/time-to-thin-out-the-herd\/"},"modified":"2007-08-13T08:43:49","modified_gmt":"2007-08-13T15:43:49","slug":"time-to-thin-out-the-herd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/capnbob.us\/blog\/2007\/08\/13\/time-to-thin-out-the-herd\/","title":{"rendered":"Time To Thin Out The Herd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Drop your X-box and grab your sox<\/strong> &#8211; uh, no, wait . . . maybe you could grab your favorite fuzzy Ugs instead . . . <strong>it&#8217;s time to pimp your favorite whacko candidate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1354\" src=\"http:\/\/capnbob.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/08\/alka-paul-ics.jpg\" alt=\"alka-paul-ics.jpg\" class=\"right\" \/>Seen recently in Southern California, this pair of Ron Paul supporters gave up their super-sizers, X-boxes and the comfort of Mom&#8217;s basement to venture out among the masses and promote their candidate.<\/p>\n<p>The results of Saturday&#8217;s Iowa straw poll would indicate that <strong>Paul<\/strong>, along with <strong>McCain<\/strong>, <strong>Tancredo<\/strong>, <strong>Cox<\/strong> and <strong>Hunter<\/strong>, ought to follow <strong>Tommy Thompson&#8217;s<\/strong> lead and remove some more of the &#8216;noise&#8217; from the Republican campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The Iowa results:<\/p>\n<p>1. Mitt Romney &#8211; 4516 votes, 31%<br \/>\n2. Mike Huckabee &#8211; 2587 votes, 18.1%<br \/>\n3. Sam Brownback &#8211; 2192 votes, 15.3%<br \/>\n4. Tom Tancredo &#8211; 1961 votes, 13.7%<br \/>\n5. Ron Paul &#8211; 1305 votes, 9.1%<br \/>\n6. Tommy Thompson &#8211; 1,009 votes, 7.3%<br \/>\n7. Fred Thompson &#8211; 231 votes<br \/>\n8. Rudy Giuliani &#8211; 183 votes<br \/>\n9. Duncan Hunter &#8211; 174 votes<br \/>\n10. John McCain &#8211; 101 votes<br \/>\n11.
