They also report that things are mostly back to normal and encourage a resumption of tourism to the island. In a tribute area on their website, the Chamber <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catalinachamber.com\/chamber\/FireThankYou.asp\">posted a photographic tribute<\/a> to the Firefighters that beat back the <a href=\"http:\/\/capnbob.us\/blog\/2007\/05\/10\/catalina-fire\/\">flames in mid-May<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>As a family that enjoys our Catalina visits (we were married in Avalon and go back often), we thank the firefighters also.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1186\" src=\"http:\/\/capnbob.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/06\/fire-banner.jpg\" alt=\"fire-banner\" class=\"centered\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce reports that there was no damage done to the city of Avalon in last month&#8217;s near-disastrous wildfires.
