Vegas' legacy as a sin city has diminished considerably since the Bugsy Segal days - it's now a cosmopolitan town with excellent law enforcement. The Las Vegas authorities went after Simpson because he committed a crime. They would have gone after anyone else who had done the same things. We can also be certain that if Simpson’s crimes had not gone to trial, there would be those who say it didn’t because of his celebrity.

We are talking Las Vegas, a city that prides itself on sin. They went after him because of his celebrity. Selective prosecution should be a concern of everyone. Sure he commited a vicious double murder, but that's not what this trial was about. Or maybe it was.
