Well, I was in Daytona Beach in 1992 when Andrew blew across the peninsula. Our weather 300 miles up the east coast actually got better. It was funny, though, there were long lines in the grocery stores for a couple days before when everyone was panic-stocking their cupboards.

Yep let the ground shake once in a while . . .

It's funny, eh? Florida gets all this "great" weather, but, hurricanes?!?!?!

Anyone ever been in one of those? I was in a fairly moderate one in Mississippi when I was in TechSchool (Keesler AFB) back in the early 80s. Not one person I know slept that night all the way through ...

Then, for a memory hit, I saw photos of Katrina hitting Keesler AFB! Sad, since Keesler's claim to fame is that the Hurricane Hunters (WC-130) are stationed there ...

Yep! Gimme da temblors!!!

Fix, I cannot disagree with that.

We've managed to live through major quakes in the L.A. area: Tehachapi 1952, Sylmar 1971, Northridge 1994 and numerous little temblors.

Life goes on for the most part and thanks to the current solar cycle, the weather just keeps on getting better!

Heh, I grew up on the San Andreas, and I still live on the San Andreas ...

Ya know, I've been in almost every kind of weather, as well as disastrous forms (hurricane, tornado, blinding snow and 20' drifts), and out of all of these, I'll take awesome weather year round peppered with a few earthquakes!
